She lives in Texas, and the state went into an ice-covered deep-freeze and most of the businesses shut down for a while. Comment: Hoi! Hoe gaat het? I don't know much beyond that and a few more necessary phrases, from when I went to the Netherlands for a short cultural exchange years ago! Thank you for the lovely card! There are some houses on my street that decorate, but some areas of my village are more festive than others. My family likes to get in the car at least once a year and drive around looking at the lights and decorations that people put up. There is a house a few blocks away that fills their yard with decorations AND puts a projector on the front of their house so you can see Chrostmas movies all season as you walk or drive by! Itself over-the-top! My silly parents went one day in their car and parked on the street to watch like a silent film. Haha. They even brought snacks! Other houses are a little bit more classic or traditional...or at least not THAT crazy. :)
