Comment: Hi Kate! Thank you so much for the envelope of Halloween goodies! You Halloween sounds like it's going to be spooky fun! I will be trick or treating with my little-littles (that's what we call the great nieces and nephews)! The kids are super excited already and they are trying to decide what my costume should be. This should be interesting! lol My mum grew up in Suffolk but she met my father when he was stationed in England in the service and she moved here to the states because he is from here. I still have Aunties and Uncles and cousins in the UK but they are spread all over now. Last time I visited I stayed in London with one of my cousins and his family. Happy Halloween! If i can give you tips about making Mead is : Use pure water whitout Chlore because it kills the Yeast that make the alcool , Biological honey that aven't been pasturised have more nutrient and taste , the first feed the yeast the second is for your taste . Making a mead that taste sugar is hard , but if you like fruits just ferment some with it , you need a lot to give taste but it make such a great Fruit Mead ! Patience pay , as Mead need time to taste good , a young mead is 6 month , you start to have a good one after a year ! I've made some batch using Wine mead that ended tasting white Wine and no honey at all ! find a receipe on internet there a tons of site or buy a book i'v read the book ; The compleat MeadMaker by Ken Schramm . Lot of tips and receipe . Better Stick to a receipe first as Honey cost a lot of money and its frustrating throwing 80$ of mead tasting like Pee ! Hope It could have help you !
